The Green School Committee wanted to involve all children in school especially the 5th and 6th classes on an organizational level.
The 5th and 6th class pupils were divided into the following sub-committees:
Collecting/recycling Christmas Cards team (Card Committee) ·
Team for sourcing Environmental information on the Internet and sharing it with other pupils ·
Litter Wardens
Energy Wardens
Bin Sorting Wardens ·
Jack & Jill Committee
Water conservation team.
The entire Green School Committee meets once each month.
For on-going school activity the pupils/caretaker/teachers meet every two weeks. Minutes are taken and a copy pinned to the school notice board for children to read. Committee members hold brief assemblies as and when necessary. All classes are reminded weekly of the importance of segregating waste properly and the importance of turning off lights and appliances. The sub-committees report to the G.S.C. on progress.
